Saturday October 28th. Prepare for a night of enchantment, extravagance, and exhilaration! The Stone Hill Spectacle: where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and the mundane transforms into pure magic. It's time to let your imagination run wild and unleash your inner costume virtuoso.
In The Great Room: Tabla for Two Abigail Adams Greenway and Masood Omari, two of the world's best Afghani music performers, will be playing throughout the day. 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM in the Amphitheatre: The Individuals of Peace Ricky Gordon returns with his New York Jazz Brass Band The Individuals of Peace. Featuring Ricky "Dirty Red" Gordon (Snare Drum/Drumset), James Zollar (Trumpet), Roger Garcia (Trumpet), Rashaan Salaam (Trombone), Gina Benalcázar López (Trombone), Santo Buzzanca (Sousaphone), Cleave Guyton, Jr. (Piccolo/Alto Sax), Isaiah Richardson, Jr. (Clarinet/Tenor Sax), Danny Rivera (Baritone Sax), Ashlae Blūme (Accordion), Jeremiah Lockwood (Bass Drum/Guitar) and Vince Hunter (Percussion). 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM in the Amphitheatre: Costume Awards Children and adults receive separate prizes in eight costume categories: Best Political, Best Animal, Best Environmental, Scariest, Best Historical, Best Fantasy, Funniest, and Best Overall. 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM in the Amphitheatre: Dancing Featuring Belly Dancers Victoria Torres and Anam Cara. Followed by West African dancers and drummers. 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM in the Amphitheatre: Fire Dancing David VanDerveer leads a menagerie of fire artists spinning and dancing with fire. 7:45 PM - Procession to Giant Bonfire Ricky Gordan's band leads the torch lighting ceremony and march to the bonfire, with more music and dancing. More information: Location: 40 Springwish Lane, Flint Hill VA 22627 Park along the driveway. Follow signs and attendants. The Spectacle is rain or shine, even if the grounds become wet. Bring a thick picnic blanket or camping chairs for seating. You may bring your own refreshments. Food Truck will be available.
